Finally, Day 28 of the February Challenge

Somewhere,  in a land, far far away... lived a young lady that yearned for sunlight and warmth that wasn't generated from her heating system or enormous cat. This lady had an affinity for color, weird music and waffle fries. She took on a nail art monthly challenge,  and succeeded.  Mostly.  This is Gawkish Polish.

Ok, enough of that, ha! I made it to the last prompt. And almost mostly on time too! Stupid Wisconsin trip that wasn't even fun anyways, throwing off my groove.  (Did anyone elese just picture the Emperors New Groove in their heads? No, just me? Ok, moving on)

This is only my second attempt at a galaxy manicure.  I loved my first one, although I did teo different looks for that one. On my left hand, I had placed star specks and little starbursts. On my right, I just left it without. And loved it way more. So I didn't want to mess with that junk this time, and wanted to keep it simple and stunning.

I useda super dark navy blue base and then I sponged on several colors to make the stary look. I used a purple, a shimmery teal, a light powder blue and bright yellow. Remember that polish that I used for the fake it Galaxy Nails?  I put a super light layer of that on top.

I'm pretty happy with how these turned out.  I would like to experiment with different colors schemes though for my next attempt.  Like green, purple and yellow. Or something,  I dunno.

Happy Friday everyone.  I hope your weekend is fantastic

Fake It Galaxy Nails

Hey-yo!!! It's so close to the weekend I can smell it!! I've got a very busy weekend ahead of me,  so hopefully everything goes well.

Today I have an awesome find that I snagged up at Walgreens the other day. I'm not usually a fan of this brand,  but it was so beautiful that I had to have it.

So I say to myself,  April... I bet that would be blamo on black. I was right! I always loved the galaxy nails I did back on the 31 Day Nail Polish Challenge, and I haven't done them since. Once I put this over black, I knew it was going to be perfect.

This is one coat of Essie Licorice,  and then the Sally Hansen Grape Shifter on the tips waterfalling down. I waterfalled a little Zoya Suri on the ring finger, but then still topped it with the glitter.

For those of you that might be nervous to try out galaxy nails,  this is a super easy way to accomplish that look.

I'm so in love. It's subtle with being stunning at the same time.

On another note,  I picked up an amazing stash at Ulta and TJ Maxx last night. Gotta love clearance polish! The Zoya's and the Orly were $4.99 each, and Mistletoe was $3.49. The OPI's came as twofer sets at Maxx, and also came with either sparkly hair ties or a cute little makeup bag. They were $7.99 for two polishes. Boom!

Starting at the top, then going clockwise: OPI Alpine Snow, OPI Sweet Heart, Zoya Suri, OPI It's Frosty Outside, Orly Digital Glitter,  OPI Meet Me Under the Mistletoe,  Zoya Sunshine and OPI Emotions.

Have a great Thursday!!!

Day 19- Galaxy Nails For The Win

Happy Tuesday my nail polish buddies.  When I first looked at this challenge,  I was super intimidated by today's prompt. But let me tell you, I don't know how I've lived without doing a galaxy mani before.

I started with a base of Sinful Colors What's Your Name, which is a dark dark blue with blue micro glitter.  I then took several other colors and sponged them on, layering the colors. Adding a holographic sparkle glitter on top... and this is heaven.

That pic is actually of the rarely seen right hand. I of course did my left first, and then did my right. I honestly prefer my right hand!! A stunning simple galaxy look.

Here are some pics of my left... I followed a tutorial that suggested to put these starbursts on top, and again... I prefer it without!

And forgive the blurriness,  but I wanted to show the intense sparkle that the holographic top coat provided.

Seriously,  I couldn't stop staring at this. I also would stop random women and make them look at my hands.  I don't care how weird it looked. I had to shout this one from the roof tops I loved it so much. I see a million more galaxy nails in my future.

I'm dying to hear your thoughts on this one.
