I fail again, I know. I am getting ready to take a vacation here starting tomorrow. I fly out to Georgia to visit my sister on Thursday, and I'm so incredibly excited. I haven't had a real vacation in forever, so this is pretty huge for me.
Did anyone do anything fun this weekend? We had a group trail ride, called Cinco de Biko... it basically was a bar crawl on bicycles. It was awesome.
Anyways, I have an appointment on Tuesday to get gel nails because I don't want to worry about polish and stuff on vaykay. The gal that I've made the appointment with also does nail art, which I of course have to have. Well, I have to have something super cool for her to see, right?
I recently put on my wish list neon polishes because I strangely didn't have many. So, I've been dying to use them.
I started with a base of My Vampire is Buff from OPI, and then sponged on a gradient of two tones of hot pink. I purchased a holo topcoat, I'm Drinking Stars by Literary Lacquer, not too long ago, so I put that on to give the gradient a little sparkle.
My roses are completely free handed on, using the two pinks in the gradient.
I love how sweet this looks while still looking totally rad with the neon fade. Plus that holo just pops in the sunlight.
Hope you like this, and I hope my nail tech is impressed, ha.
And I know I post here sporadically, but I will for sure be MIA until I get back. I will probably do a quick post of what the nail tech did for me (I'm thinking about mosaic) but we'll see...
Thanks for reading, and miss me while I'm gone!! =)

Day 11 of March Nail Art Challenge
Hey guys, I'm so sorry for the lack of posts. You know how my first week of the month is a nightmare? It completely took over my life this time and I had no time to even paint my nails let alone do nail art.
I participated in the day prior, the prompt was Candy. Candy? Well that was weird. At first I tried to do kind of a Whopper candy look but it was bizarre. So I said screw it, because it was already so late at night. I instead put on a few colors of sparkly textred polishes and called it gumdrops, lol. I know, I kind of cheated there. It wasn't worth posting here, but it is on my Instagram.
This prompt was Neon. I honestly don't have a lot of neon colors. That's something I need to acquire. I used three really bright polishes and did a gradient, and then topped with a black splatter. I added hot pink on my ring finger.
Lemme tell you the blue was a you-know-what to clean up. It completely stained my cuticles. I taped off my fingers to avoid the black staining, but it still got everywhere. If you've never done splatter before, it gets pretty messy. =)
I did like wearing this though. It actually was quite warm yesterday, and so this was a bright punch that I totally needed. I'm sad I have to remove it right away because I have a conference to go to on Wednesday and I'm not sure that they would appreciate this, lol!
So that's it chickies! Do you like this bright mani?

Day 18, Half Moons
Greetings and happy Monday. Did you all have a good weekend? Once again my football team won, and we're on a streak! Also celebrated Oktoberfest like a champ.
Remember the in your face neon pink from yesterday? I wanted to use it for my half moon mani today.
I used paper hole protectors to mark off the moon shape, and then used Orly Fowl Play as the top color, which is a duo chrome purple with specks of glitter.
Super fun, right? Such an easy way to upgrade a normal look.
On a side note, my local Ulta FINALLY got their fall collections in. (Stupid Midwest) I bought 3 Zoya's, an older China Glaze that I found hiding, and two clearanced random Ulta polishes. I had a few Pixie Dusts in my hand, and I ended up putting them back. I think I'm just over the whole textured polish thing.
The next couple of days will be toughies, so I'm relishing in this one for a bit.
Let me know your thoughts!

Bonus Post, Blackbox Polish
Hey-o! I have a bonus post for you that actually doesn't revolve around the 31 Day Nail Polish Challenge! I was looking at colors to re-do my mani, and remembered I had this one from my August Blackbox.
This is China Glaze Surfin' For Boys. It's a bright coral neon, but in the bottle I was pretty underwhelmed. It looked like a shimmery version of a bright summer coral, so I wasn't in a hurry to swatch it.
Putting this polish on I went whoa!!! This is neon. And not just regular neon, like punch you in the face neon. When I was outside around twilight, it literally almost glowed in the dark.
But chickadees, this formula was atrocious. It was like trying to smear mayonnaise on my nails. It was thick, streaky and also dried to a satin finish which was weird.
After I put the top coat on, I liked it better.
In the shade the brightness came through much better.
I'm using this in my next "day" challenge, so look forward to that!
